Flint Street

Mon 5th – Sat 10th December 2011

It may be pantomime season but Keighley Playhouse has broken all the rules – especially when acting with children and animals.

The Flint Street Nativity takes you into the world of Mizzis Horrocks' class of seven-year-olds who are about to perform their nativity play for the proud mums and dads - and the occasional social worker. It could only be the eagerly awaited first night performance of the Flint Street Primary School.

We meet two girls fighting over the role of Mary; a screamingly funny innkeeper; and the boy who has a unique method of judging women's ages! What makes this play funnier is that the children are played by adults.

Director Richard Walsh says, “The classroom antics backstage at Flint Street Primary School's nativity play are awash with jealousy, teasing, blackmail, unrequited love and of course, Christmas carols performed as only children know how all feature in this laugh out loud production!”  This warm, witty production at the Keighley Playhouse is an ideal alternative to the usual Christmas fayre.

The Flint Street Nativity is a festive nostalgic comedy for anyone who remembers being in a nativity play - or for any parent who’s watched one through their fingers.

Evening performances begin at 7.30pmTickets range from £4 to £6
