Keighley Playhouse - one of Keighleys Hidden Gems!

Tuesday, September 06, 2011

Visit Keighley Playhouse in Russell Street Keighley for a nostalgic night out.  A lovely traditional theatre in the heart of the town providing comfortable, friendly surroundings - even cups of tea and biscuits on a tray for the interval!

Love, loyalty and betrayal are some of the fierce emotions flying around in the Keighley Playhouse production of A View From the Bridge.

Set in 1955 in New York the play sizzles along drawing out hidden emotions!! Eddie Carbone, a decent hardworking man played by Tim Lobley, gives a solid performance of a man struggling with his emotions.  He lives a quiet life with his wife and neice until his wife's two cousins arrive into the country illegally.

Jealousy and betrayals emerge, with the play spiralling towards a tragic conclusion!!

Well done to all the cast and looking forward to visiting again week beginning 24 October 2011 for The 39 Steps.
