(Julie Bridgman / David Tear / April Chamberlain)
Armstrong Wood & Bridgman LLP have been joined by two new Partners, April Chamberlain and David Tear, who have established a Dispute Resolution and Commercial Contracts Department at the Firm.
April has worked locally in Keighley over the last eleven years and deals with a wide variety of contract disputes, negligence claims and consumer disputes, acting for companies, family businesses and individual clients. She is keen to find practical commercial solutions to problems. She also deals with various aspects of business law, including drafting and advising on a variety of commercial contracts and terms and conditions.
AWB’s Senior Partner, Martin Wood, says: “We are delighted to welcome April who is able to expand our services to clients to cover dispute resolution and commercial contracts. April will be able to assist the local business community with commercial legal services”.
David has worked previously with a large commercial practice in Bradford and Leeds. He qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and specialises in Dispute Resolution. He acts for commercial clients and individuals in specialist areas of law including breach of contract, negligence claims, property and land disputes, debt recovery and insolvency. David advises on drafting commercial contracts and also represents clients in licensing matters.
Martin Wood says “AWB is delighted to welcome David to the LLP Partnership. We are pleased to expand our range of legal services and help local businesses, particularly in a time of recession. The commercial experience of David and April is a great asset to the Practice, which continues to develop since its formation in 2003. As Commercial and Private Client Solicitors, we want to give a full range of services to the people of Keighley and support the business community.”
The Dispute Resolution Department also includes Family work headed up by Partner Julie Bridgman, who is a trained Collaborative Lawyer and an accredited Member of Resolution.
AWB’s Trust Department gives a comprehensive service, including Wills and Powers of Attorney and deals with Elderly Client matters. The department expanded last year with the recruitment of assistant Solicitor, Liam O’Neill, who previously worked in Bradford.
The Property Department is led by Martin Wood and covers all commercial property and residential conveyancing matters, including leases and mortgages, serving the local housing market and the Keighley business community. Now Home Information Packs have been abolished, we hope that the residential market will move forward and mortgages should be available to buyers with appropriate status and deposits, particularly when houses are now at more realistic prices.
AWB are pleased to move forward with Keighley and they are regular participants in the events of KTCA.
