Popular Bus Service Returns to Haworth

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

The bus connects Haworth Station to the principal Haworth coach & car parks, the Bronte Parsonage Museum and Main Street, and then runs out to Stanbury Village and Ponden Reservoir at Scar Top.  Departures from Haworth Station are at 1050;  1130;  1215;  1255;  1345;  1430;  1515 and 1600, all timed to connect with Keighley & Worth Valley Railway trains arriving at Haworth from Keighley.

In addition, the first through bus journey to Haworth and Stanbury starts from Keighley Bus Station at 1035.  This extra journey plugs a gap in the existing Haworth bus service and creates regular half-hourly Sunday morning departures from Keighley to Haworth from 1005 onwards. Ordinary Metro fares are charged and all Metro passes and concessions are valid.

By popular demand from regular customers, six journeys on the 812 bus now run to Ponden Reservoir at Scar Top; whilst four of the return journeys are diverted across the top of Penistone Hill to Marsh Chapel, returning via Marsh Lane and Sun Street to Haworth Station.   These extra journeys provide journey opportunities for both local people and the many visiting walkers and ramblers to reach deep into the Bronte Moorlands.
